Ein Team der Aalto-Universit\u00e4t im finnischen Espoo unter der Leitung des Forschers Jere M\u00e4kinen ver\u00f6ffentlichte eine Studie, in der beschrieben wird, wie sie den Kristall in ein optomechanisches System verwandelten. Solche Systeme k\u00f6nnten hochpr\u00e4zise Sensoren oder Speichereinheiten f\u00fcr Quantencomputer erm\u00f6glichen.<br><br>Das Experiment wurde im Low Temperature Laboratory, einem Teil der nationalen Forschungsinfrastruktur OtaNano, und mit Hilfe der Rechenkapazit\u00e4ten des Aalto Science-IT-Projekts durchgef\u00fchrt.<br><br>Zeitkristalle wurden 2012 vom Nobelpreistr\u00e4ger Frank Wilczek theoretisch vorgeschlagen. Es handelt sich um Quantensysteme, die ohne externe Energiezufuhr in ihrem niedrigsten Energiezustand arbeiten. Im Jahr 2021 schufen Forscher von Stanford, Google, Max Planck und Oxford mithilfe des Sycamore-Quantenprozessors einen Zeitkristall. Sp\u00e4ter schuf die Technische Universit\u00e4t Delft einen Kristall in einem Diamanten.<br><br>Wissenschaftler der Aalto-Universit\u00e4t haben nun gezeigt, dass es m\u00f6glich ist, einen Kristall an ein externes System zu koppeln und seine Eigenschaften zu optimieren. Sie injizierten Magnon-Quasiteilchen mithilfe von Radiowellen in eine Helium-3-Suprafl\u00fcssigkeit. Nach dem Abschalten der Pumpe bildeten die Magnonen einen Zeitkristall, der bis zu 108 Zyklen lang aktiv blieb.<br><br>W\u00e4hrend er allm\u00e4hlich verschwand, koppelte sich der Kristall an einen nahegelegenen mechanischen Oszillator, der von seiner Frequenz und Amplitude abh\u00e4ngig war.
