Anstelle der digitalen Verarbeitung mit Bin\u00e4rwerten nutzt er die analoge Verarbeitung mittels RRAM-Zellen, die Daten als kontinuierliche elektrische Signale speichern und verarbeiten.<br><br>In einer am 13. Oktober in der Fachzeitschrift Nature Electronics ver\u00f6ffentlichten Studie beschreibt das Team, wie der Chip zwei zentrale Probleme digitaler Systeme l\u00f6st. Das erste Problem betrifft den hohen Stromverbrauch, das zweite den begrenzten Datendurchsatz. Bei Tests mit komplexen Kommunikationsaufgaben erreichte der Chip die Genauigkeit digitaler Prozessoren, verbrauchte aber 100-mal weniger Strom.<br><br>Durch weitere Optimierungen \u00fcbertraf der Chip die Leistung von High-End-GPUs um bis zu 1000 Karten. Der entscheidende Vorteil besteht darin, dass die Daten direkt im Chip verarbeitet werden, ohne dass ein Datentransfer zwischen Speicher und Prozessor erforderlich ist.<br><br>Spezielle RRAM-Zellen wurden in zwei Schaltkreisen angeordnet: einem f\u00fcr die schnelle Auswertung und einem f\u00fcr die pr\u00e4zise Verfeinerung der Ergebnisse.
