Bisherige Alternativen wie Natrium- oder Kaliumbatterien wiesen eine geringe Energiedichte und Stabilit\u00e4tsprobleme bei h\u00f6heren Spannungen auf. Die neue Konstruktion nutzt eine innovative Elektrolytl\u00f6sung, die den Materialabbau verhindert und so einen sicheren Betrieb bei Spannungen \u00fcber 4 Volt erm\u00f6glicht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diese Zellen, die im Laborma\u00dfstab etwa 4,5 cm x 3,2 cm gro\u00df sind, werden aus Materialien hergestellt, die in der Natur deutlich leichter verf\u00fcgbar sind als Lithium. Experten sch\u00e4tzen, dass die Verwendung von Kalium die Produktionskosten von Batterien um mehr als 40 % senken k\u00f6nnte. W\u00e4hrend eine Tonne Lithiumcarbonat Zehntausende Euro kostet, sind die Rohstoffe f\u00fcr Kaliumbatterien f\u00fcr etwa 450 bis 900 Euro pro Tonne erh\u00e4ltlich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Obwohl diese Batterien etwas schwerer als Lithium-Batterien sind und in Standardmodulen etwa 15 cm lang sind, eignen sie sich ideal f\u00fcr die station\u00e4re Energiespeicherung im Stromnetz. Dadurch k\u00f6nnten gro\u00dfe Batteriespeicheranlagen zur Speicherung von Solar- und Windenergie deutlich kosteng\u00fcnstiger gebaut werden.
