Google has unveiled plans to boost enterprise security with a special new version of its Chrome browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Introduced at the Google Cloud Next 24 conference, Chrome Enterprise Premium aims to offer an additional level of endpoint protection in the browser itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As users around the world access the Chrome browser on their mobile and workplace devices and across different software versions and platforms, the company says Chrome Enterprise Premium offers a number of tools to ensure that access is secure at every level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBrowsers are more than just a portal to the Internet: they are the new endpoint where almost all high-value activities and interactions in the enterprise take place,\u201d Parisa Tabriz, vice president of Chrome at Google, wrote in her blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAuthentication, access, communication and collaboration, management, and even coding are all browser-based activities in the modern enterprise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company says its rollout builds on the initial set of services offered by Chrome Enterprise, which provides a number of management tools for IT and security teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, there will also be some new additions, including expanded enterprise control, which allows enterprises to enforce policies, manage software updates, and extend compliance with their internal policies. Enhanced threat and data protection will enable stronger data loss prevention and malware prevention, and AI phishing protection will also be available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The platform, which can integrate with other Google and third-party security solutions, will also enable better security insights and reporting, including event reporting, device reporting and forensics capabilities for enterprise-wide visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will also be support for scaling access control to web applications based on context, enabling continuous, trustless access to SaaS and web applications.<\/p>\n
