It\u2019s been the longest stretch between the previous and the new mainline version since the series began. The Sims 4 didn\u2019t exactly spoil us with tons of extras to keep us glued to our screens, and that\u2019s why we\u2019re more than ready for the sequel. The game's secret name is currently rumored to be "Project Rene," but until an official name is announced, we'll just use The Sims 5. No further details on the exact release date have been released. Developer Maxis officially announced that they were working on a sequel at the Behind the Sims Summit in October 2022. The only hint we've gotten so far has been from Lyndsay Pearson, the franchise's creative vice president: "For the next few years, we will continue to share with you all updates about the Rene project<\/em>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Based on all the information, we can speculate that we won't get The Sims 5 before 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It's not yet confirmed or officially announced which platforms The Sims 5 will be available on, but it's pretty clear that it will be PC.
