However, so far they have had quite a few problems with displaying human hands and the world around them. Gestures were not always reliable either. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now Meta fixes both problems. With the new update (v66), users can click a new button on their wrist that will bring up the main menu anywhere and instantly. Judging by the shots, it also works, they greatly reduced the distortion of the image. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"v66 Passthrough Improvements\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qwQQ8auFNTo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Meta says that appropriate audio will now play when multitasking. \u201cNow you can launch a 2D app like a browser, play music or video, and minimize the app without automatically pausing playback,\u201d the company blog post states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The passthrough fixes are currently exclusive to the Quest 3. Meta says they&#039;re rolling them out slowly and are technically separate from v66, but the wrist buttons and background audio will also be available for the Quest 2 and Quest Pro. Meta is also adding support for &quot;high definition&quot; Netflix to its web browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full changelog also mentions smaller updates, such as the ability to hide any app in the library for a clearer view, the ability to automatically identify windows, doors, tables, couches, beds, and screens in real space \u201cto improve realism in mixed reality games and apps,\u201d and the ability to sync photos and videos from the glasses to an online gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cSleep\u201d function is also expected to be improved, which will consume less energy during idle time.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The biggest reason to buy the Meta Quest 3 VR glasses over its predecessors is the way the glasses display the real and virtual world.
