But the team members who were fired said that work on the Nova launcher will have to slow down, and Barry has already announced that he has to &quot;scale down&quot; the next major version of the Nova program compared to what was originally planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&quot;Development will undoubtedly slow down with fewer people working on the app, but the current plan is for updates to continue in some form,&quot; Rob Wainwright, one of the fired developers, wrote on Discord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/nova-launcher.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2537718\" width=\"693\" height=\"433\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nova Launcher has been a fixture in the Android launcher community for years, offering highly customizable features to transform the home screens of Android phones. The app was acquired by mobile analytics company Branch in July 2022. According to Cliff Wade, head of customer relations for Nova Launcher, Branch is now laying off more than 100 people across the company, including most of the Nova team. Wainwright said there used to be &quot;about ten people&quot; working on the Nova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The launcher will continue to work for anyone already using it.
