The new Red Pro 26TB hard drive from Western Digital with a capacity of 26 terabytes is available in a 3.5-inch format. It is equipped with a SATA interface and has 512 megabytes of cache. The magnetic plates rotate at a speed of 7,200 revolutions per minute. Engineers managed to achieve this high capacity by using PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) technology, which is also used to manufacture classic hard drives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To make the new product more resistant to external temperatures, to heat up less and to consume less electricity (up to half in standby mode compared to classic solutions), helium was used.
