After months of testing, Plex is ready to introduce itself to the world with a new look. The new Plex app is now available on Android and iOS devices, with the full launch expected within a week. The updated app introduces a brand new way to navigate the system, which should make it easier to navigate the app and find content. It also introduces a brand new tab for centralized media libraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They added a watchlist button in the top right corner and more information about series and movies, including cast and crew information. In addition to the look, the announcement said that they also made loading and navigation faster. They also added a sleep timer and support for picture-in-picture, which means the app can overlap when you're using Chrome or another app at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Plex plans to introduce a way to download an entire season at once, the ability to play across multiple devices, UI improvements for ratings and reviews, and more. It's also preparing a revamp of its TV app, which it began testing earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the new look comes a new monthly subscription price. The Plex Pass will be available starting April 29th for $6.99 per month, but you'll have to pay an additional subscription fee to use Plex when you're away from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new update also removed the ability to watch movies and TV shows simultaneously. If you're on the go and want to watch the same movie with your partner at home, you'll have to do so through a browser, not within the Plex app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
