Check these settings!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every operating system needs regular maintenance, and Windows 11 is no exception. While Microsoft is constantly adding new features, these often put additional strain on the processor and RAM. The problem usually starts with programs that start automatically when you turn on your computer, as well as the accumulation of digital traces left by applications and system updates. Without regular cleaning, your system can become sluggish and response times can increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Cleaning system storage and temporary files<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Windows 11 has a built-in deep cleaning tool that you can launch manually:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press <strong>Win + I<\/strong> (Settings) &gt; <strong>System<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Storage<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Click on <strong>Temporary files<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Check all (except &quot;Downloads&quot; if you keep your files there) and click <strong>Remove files<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Managing startup programs (Autostart)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Programs that start at startup are the biggest culprit for slow startup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Fast track:<\/strong> Press <strong>Ctrl + Shift + Esc<\/strong> (Task Manager) &gt; tab <strong>Startup applications<\/strong>. Right-click on unnecessary programs (e.g. Steam, Spotify, Cortana) and select <strong>Disable<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Advanced path (Autoruns):<\/strong> Download the tool <em>Microsoft Sysinternals Autoruns<\/em>. Run it as administrator. On the &quot;Everything&quot; tab, uncheck the entries you don&#039;t need. <strong>Attention:<\/strong> Don&#039;t touch entries labeled &quot;Microsoft&quot; or &quot;Windows&quot; if you&#039;re not sure.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Analyze and optimize the WinSxS folder<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This folder stores old versions of system files and can become huge. To safely clean it, use the command line:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press <strong>Win + S<\/strong>, enter <strong>cmd<\/strong>, right click and <strong>Run as administrator<\/strong>.<\/li><li>To analyze the actual size, enter: <code>Dism.exe \/Online \/Cleanup-Image \/AnalyzeComponentStore<\/code><\/li><li>If the system advises cleaning, enter: <code>Dism.exe \/Online \/Cleanup-Image \/StartComponentCleanup<\/code><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Disabling Recall and Copilot (AI)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a Copilot+ PC, the Recall feature takes up to 150 GB of space (depending on your settings).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Disabling via settings:<\/strong> <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Privacy and security<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Recall and screenshots<\/strong>.
