The biggest obstacle in this is traditional cooling systems, as fans, heat pipes and air vents require a lot of space inside the case. At IFA 2026, Lenovo offered its vision of a solution with the Lenovo ThinkBook Project AeroBlade concept laptop, which uses a completely different active cooling technology instead of traditional rotating fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chassis of this 35.56 cm (14-inch) laptop is made of a combination of magnesium and aluminum. It measures less than 10 millimeters thick when closed, and the entire device weighs less than 830 grams. There are no conventional fan openings on the chassis. Instead, Lenovo has teamed up with Frore Systems to install four Frore Systems AirJet cooling modules. These modules work with the help of small piezoelectric membranes that vibrate at ultrasonic frequencies. This creates high-speed air jets that suck air in and push it through the system without the need for a moving part of a classic fan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By using Frore Systems AirJet modules, which are just 2.65 millimeters thick, Lenovo was able to significantly reduce the size of the motherboard. The manufacturer states that despite the extremely thin design, the system can operate at a thermal power of up to 20 watts. This means that the device can perform more demanding tasks without the noise usually caused by overloaded fans. The Lenovo ThinkBook Project AeroBlade laptop is equipped with a high-resolution OLED display, and the flexible hinge allows the display to be completely flush with the surface.
