El logro se public\u00f3 recientemente en la revista Nature Energy.<br><br>Se trata de bater\u00edas de metal de litio, que tienen una densidad energ\u00e9tica significativamente mayor que las bater\u00edas de iones de litio, ya que utilizan litio puro en lugar de un \u00e1nodo de grafito. A pesar de sus ventajas, las bater\u00edas de metal de litio se han extendido menos hasta la fecha debido a las dendritas, o cristales afilados de litio. Estos \u00faltimos se forman en los \u00e1nodos durante la carga y pueden provocar cortocircuitos.<br><br>Los investigadores descubrieron que las dendritas se forman debido a la cohesi\u00f3n desigual en la superficie del litio. Como resultado, desarrollaron una nueva soluci\u00f3n de electrolito l\u00edquido con una estructura ani\u00f3nica que presenta una d\u00e9bil afinidad de uni\u00f3n con los iones de litio. Esto permite una deposici\u00f3n uniforme del litio en el \u00e1nodo y previene la formaci\u00f3n de dendritas incluso durante la carga r\u00e1pida.<br><br>En el laboratorio, la bater\u00eda se carg\u00f3 de 5 % a 70 % en tan solo 12 minutos, a lo largo de 350 ciclos. Los modelos de alta densidad energ\u00e9tica (386 Wh\/kg) han demostrado la capacidad de cargar de 10 % a 80 % en 17 minutos.
