Debido a las imperfecciones e impurezas de los materiales, esto ha sido extremadamente dif\u00edcil de detectar.<br><br>Investigadores del Instituto Indio de Ciencias (IISc), en colaboraci\u00f3n con el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias de los Materiales de Jap\u00f3n, han detectado este fluido cu\u00e1ntico de electrones en grafeno, un material de carbono monocapa. Sus resultados, publicados en Nature Physics, abren nuevas puertas al mundo cu\u00e1ntico y confirman que el grafeno es una plataforma ideal para explorar fen\u00f3menos cu\u00e1nticos poco comunes. \u00abEs asombroso cu\u00e1ntos secretos esconde una sola capa de grafeno, incluso despu\u00e9s de 20 a\u00f1os\u00bb, afirma el profesor Arindam Ghosh del IISc.<br><br>El equipo cre\u00f3 muestras de grafeno extremadamente puro y observ\u00f3 c\u00f3mo conduc\u00eda simult\u00e1neamente la electricidad y el calor. Sorprendentemente, encontraron la relaci\u00f3n inversa: una mayor conductividad el\u00e9ctrica implicaba una menor conductividad t\u00e9rmica. A bajas temperaturas, detectaron una desviaci\u00f3n de la ley de m\u00e1s de 200 veces, lo que indica mecanismos separados para la transferencia de calor y carga. Ambos se basan en una constante universal: la conductividad cu\u00e1ntica.<br><br>Este fen\u00f3meno ocurre en el \u00abpunto de Dirac\u00bb, donde el grafeno no es ni un metal ni un aislante. All\u00ed, los electrones se mueven como un l\u00edquido, similar al agua, pero cien veces menos viscoso. Este estado, llamado l\u00edquido de Dirac, recuerda al plasma de quarks y gluones observado en el CERN.<br><br>El grafeno demuestra ser una plataforma rentable para simular la f\u00edsica y la astrof\u00edsica de altas energ\u00edas.
