Sus electrolitos l\u00edquidos son inflamables, lo que puede provocar explosiones o incendios qu\u00edmicos peligrosos si se da\u00f1an o se exponen a altas temperaturas. Esto limita su uso en tecnolog\u00edas avanzadas como equipos aeroespaciales, sistemas militares y sensores industriales para el Internet de las Cosas (IoT). Las bater\u00edas de estado s\u00f3lido ofrecen una soluci\u00f3n, donde el l\u00edquido se reemplaza por un medio s\u00f3lido. Sin embargo, hasta ahora, ha sido extremadamente dif\u00edcil producir versiones totalmente cer\u00e1micas para dispositivos peque\u00f1os debido a limitaciones f\u00edsicas. A este calor, una bater\u00eda t\u00edpica de smartphone se hinchar\u00eda, estallar\u00eda o se incendiar\u00eda en cuesti\u00f3n de minutos. Sin embargo, dado que se trata de un enfoque totalmente nuevo y experimental, debemos ser cautelosos al predecir su adopci\u00f3n masiva inmediata. Durante las pruebas a temperatura ambiente, la bater\u00eda conserv\u00f3 el 76,2 % de su capacidad original tras 100 ciclos de carga y descarga. Si bien esto resulta prometedor para condiciones de laboratorio, en la pr\u00e1ctica se necesitar\u00e1 una durabilidad a\u00fan mayor a largo plazo, durante miles de ciclos, para los dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos de uso diario.<br><br>Sin embargo, esta tecnolog\u00eda tiene un enorme potencial para reducir los costos de fabricaci\u00f3n. No requiere presi\u00f3n externa para mantener su forma, lo cual suele ser un problema con otros dise\u00f1os de estado s\u00f3lido. M\u00e1s importante a\u00fan, se puede fabricar en aire ambiente en lugar de en costosos laboratorios de vac\u00edo herm\u00e9ticos.
