El chip, llamado OpenAI Jalape\u00f1o, est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para eliminar el dilema cl\u00e1sico de la ejecuci\u00f3n de modelos de IA: elegir entre alto rendimiento y baja latencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En mediciones realizadas con la herramienta de software de c\u00f3digo abierto InferenceX, se compar\u00f3 el rendimiento del chip OpenAI Jalape\u00f1o con soluciones comerciales existentes de Nvidia, espec\u00edficamente la plataforma Nvidia Blackwell. Las pruebas realizadas con modelos disponibles p\u00fablicamente, como OpenAI GPT-OSS 120B, DeepSeek R1 y Moonshot AI Kimi K2.5, demostraron que el nuevo chip logra una eficiencia entre 1,5 y 1,9 veces mayor por vatio de electricidad consumido en su m\u00e1ximo rendimiento. Asimismo, la latencia general se redujo entre 1,7 y 3,6 veces. Estas ventajas fueron a\u00fan m\u00e1s notables en tareas altamente interactivas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aunque el OpenAI Jalape\u00f1o tiene una potencia nominal de 700 W, las mediciones mostraron que el consumo real bajo carga se mantuvo en 550 W o menos. Para los desarrolladores, la m\u00e9trica clave es principalmente la cantidad de trabajo realizado por unidad de energ\u00eda, no solo la potencia bruta.
