Cette d\u00e9couverte a r\u00e9cemment \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e dans la revue Nature Energy.<br><br>Il s&#039;agit de batteries lithium-m\u00e9tal, dont la densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique est nettement sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle des batteries lithium-ion, car elles utilisent du lithium pur au lieu d&#039;une anode en graphite. Malgr\u00e9 leurs avantages, les batteries lithium-m\u00e9tal sont jusqu&#039;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent moins r\u00e9pandues en raison de la pr\u00e9sence de dendrites, ou cristaux de lithium pointus. Ces derniers se forment sur les anodes lors de la charge et peuvent provoquer des courts-circuits.<br><br>Les chercheurs ont d\u00e9couvert que la formation de dendrites est due \u00e0 une coh\u00e9sion in\u00e9gale \u00e0 la surface du lithium. Ils ont donc d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une nouvelle solution \u00e9lectrolytique liquide \u00e0 structure anionique pr\u00e9sentant une faible affinit\u00e9 de liaison pour les ions lithium. Cette solution permet un d\u00e9p\u00f4t uniforme du lithium sur l&#039;anode et emp\u00eache la formation de dendrites, m\u00eame lors d&#039;une charge rapide.<br><br>En laboratoire, la batterie a \u00e9t\u00e9 charg\u00e9e de 5 % \u00e0 70 % en seulement 12 minutes, sur 350 cycles. Les mod\u00e8les \u00e0 haute densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique (386 Wh\/kg) ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 charger de 10 % \u00e0 80 % en 17 minutes.
