Une nouvelle m\u00e9thode de laboratoire, publi\u00e9e dans la revue Science, montre que des d\u00e9chets plastiques m\u00e9lang\u00e9s peuvent \u00eatre transform\u00e9s en hydrocarbures de la gamme de l&#039;essence et en acide chlorhydrique (HCl) en une seule \u00e9tape. Des chercheurs de l&#039;ECNU font \u00e9tat d&#039;une efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures aussi basses que 30 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette m\u00e9thode permet de traiter des flux de d\u00e9chets mixtes, voire contamin\u00e9s, un \u00e9l\u00e9ment crucial car la plupart des d\u00e9chets plastiques sont difficiles \u00e0 s\u00e9parer. Cette nouvelle m\u00e9thode combine la rupture des liaisons carbone et l&#039;\u00e9limination du chlore en une seule \u00e9tape, produisant des hydrocarbures essence sans chlore (C6-C12) et du HCl comme sous-produit. Des catalyseurs liquides ioniques \u00e0 base de chloroaluminate permettent une r\u00e9action contr\u00f4l\u00e9e \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature.<br><br>Lors des essais, la conversion des tuyaux en PVC souple a atteint 95 %, et celle des tuyaux et c\u00e2bles rigides jusqu&#039;\u00e0 99 %. Les d\u00e9chets mixtes (PVC + polyol\u00e9fines) ont atteint 96 % \u00e0 80 \u00b0C. Les produits obtenus \u00e9taient exempts de m\u00e9thane et principalement constitu\u00e9s d&#039;alcanes ramifi\u00e9s. La m\u00e9thode fonctionne \u00e0 temp\u00e9rature et pression ambiantes, ce qui se traduit par une consommation d&#039;\u00e9nergie r\u00e9duite et un \u00e9quipement plus simple. Le HCl peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 dans l&#039;industrie et comme carburant dans les r\u00e9seaux de distribution existants.
