Cette nouvelle technologie permet aux v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques de parcourir plus de 1\u00a0000 km avec une seule charge, d\u00e9passant ainsi l&#039;autonomie typique des voitures \u00e0 essence (600 \u00e0 800 km).<br><br>Jusqu&#039;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, le principal obstacle r\u00e9sidait dans la mauvaise liaison entre l&#039;\u00e9lectrolyte solide et les \u00e9lectrodes souples en lithium m\u00e9tal. Les \u00e9lectrolytes sulfur\u00e9s sont cassants comme la c\u00e9ramique, tandis que les \u00e9lectrodes sont souples comme l&#039;argile, ce qui entra\u00eene un contact irr\u00e9gulier et de faibles performances.<br><br>Trois innovations cl\u00e9s ont d\u00e9sormais r\u00e9solu ce probl\u00e8me : les ions iode comme \u00ab colle auto-cicatrisante \u00bb qui comble les espaces entre l&#039;\u00e9lectrolyte et l&#039;\u00e9lectrode ; un squelette polym\u00e8re qui rend la batterie flexible et peut r\u00e9sister \u00e0 plus de 20 000 pliages, tout en augmentant la capacit\u00e9 de 86 % ; et les poly\u00e9thers fluor\u00e9s qui forment une couche protectrice et permettent un fonctionnement s\u00fbr \u00e0 120 \u00b0C et une r\u00e9sistance aux dommages m\u00e9caniques.<br><br>Cette avanc\u00e9e pourrait permettre de voyager entre Paris et Milan ou de Los Angeles \u00e0 San Francisco sans recharge.
