Au lieu d&#039;un traitement num\u00e9rique binaire, elle utilise un traitement analogique via des cellules RRAM qui stockent et traitent les donn\u00e9es sous forme de signaux \u00e9lectriques continus.<br><br>Dans une \u00e9tude publi\u00e9e le 13 octobre dans la revue Nature Electronics, l&#039;\u00e9quipe d\u00e9crit comment la puce r\u00e9sout deux probl\u00e8mes majeurs des syst\u00e8mes num\u00e9riques\u00a0: la forte consommation d&#039;\u00e9nergie et le d\u00e9bit de donn\u00e9es limit\u00e9. Test\u00e9e sur des t\u00e2ches de communication complexes, la puce a atteint la pr\u00e9cision des processeurs num\u00e9riques tout en consommant 100 fois moins d&#039;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<br><br>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 quelques optimisations suppl\u00e9mentaires, la puce a surpass\u00e9 les performances des GPU haut de gamme de pr\u00e8s de 1\u00a0000 cartes. Son principal avantage r\u00e9side dans le traitement des donn\u00e9es au sein m\u00eame de la puce, sans transfert entre la m\u00e9moire et le processeur.<br><br>Les cellules RRAM d\u00e9di\u00e9es \u00e9taient organis\u00e9es en deux circuits\u00a0: l\u2019un pour une \u00e9valuation rapide et l\u2019autre pour un affinement pr\u00e9cis des r\u00e9sultats.
