L&#039;avenir des v\u00e9hicules et des avions \u00e9lectriques ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Des scientifiques ont r\u00e9cemment mis au point un nouveau type de batterie structurelle dix fois plus performante que les prototypes pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents. Contrairement aux batteries classiques, cette innovation ne se contente pas de stocker l&#039;\u00e9nergie, mais fait \u00e9galement partie int\u00e9grante de la structure physique d&#039;un v\u00e9hicule ou d&#039;un appareil.<br><br>Les batteries structurelles sont souvent qualifi\u00e9es de \u00ab stockage d&#039;\u00e9nergie sans masse \u00bb car elles sont int\u00e9gr\u00e9es directement \u00e0 la carrosserie d&#039;une voiture, d&#039;un avion ou m\u00eame d&#039;un appareil \u00e9lectronique. Cela permet de r\u00e9duire le poids total tout en augmentant la r\u00e9sistance de la structure. Des chercheurs de l&#039;Universit\u00e9 de technologie Chalmers et de l&#039;Institut royal de technologie de Su\u00e8de ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 comment leur derni\u00e8re conception permet d&#039;atteindre des performances exceptionnelles.<br><br>La batterie a \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9e en ins\u00e9rant des fibres de verre entre les \u00e9lectrodes, en ajoutant un \u00e9lectrolyte polym\u00e8re et en durcissant la cellule dans un four. On obtient ainsi une batterie plate qui conduit bien l&#039;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et r\u00e9siste aux contraintes m\u00e9caniques dans toutes les directions.<br><br>Le prototype atteint actuellement une densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique de 24 Wh\/kg, soit environ 20 % de la capacit\u00e9 des batteries lithium-ion actuelles, tout en offrant une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 nettement sup\u00e9rieure et une rigidit\u00e9 de 25 GPa. Plus l\u00e9gers, les v\u00e9hicules consomment moins d&#039;\u00e9nergie, ce qui compense la densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique inf\u00e9rieure.<br><br>Les prochaines \u00e9tapes consistent \u00e0 remplacer l&#039;aluminium par de la fibre de carbone et \u00e0 affiner le s\u00e9parateur. Cela pourrait permettre \u00e0 la batterie d&#039;atteindre une densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique de 75 Wh\/kg et une rigidit\u00e9 de 75 GPa, la pla\u00e7ant ainsi au m\u00eame niveau que de nombreux mat\u00e9riaux de construction tout en stockant davantage d&#039;\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les applications ne se limitent pas aux voitures \u00e9lectriques, mais concernent \u00e9galement les v\u00e9los \u00e9lectriques, les satellites, les ordinateurs portables et surtout les a\u00e9ronefs, o\u00f9 le poids repr\u00e9sente le principal obstacle \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9lectrification.
