Les batteries conventionnelles utilisent des acides et des bases agressifs qui corrodent les mat\u00e9riaux internes au fil du temps et pr\u00e9sentent un risque environnemental important en cas d&#039;\u00e9limination inappropri\u00e9e. La nouvelle conception \u00e9vite compl\u00e8tement ces probl\u00e8mes.<br><br>Au lieu d&#039;\u00e9lectrolytes toxiques, cette batterie utilise une solution neutre de sels de magn\u00e9sium et de calcium, semblable \u00e0 celle pr\u00e9sente dans le tofu. L&#039;\u00e9lectrolyte a un pH de 7, ce qui emp\u00eache la corrosion des \u00e9lectrodes et prolonge consid\u00e9rablement la dur\u00e9e de vie de la batterie.<br><br>L&#039;\u00e9lectrode n\u00e9gative est constitu\u00e9e d&#039;un polym\u00e8re organique sp\u00e9cialement synth\u00e9tis\u00e9, formant un r\u00e9seau plastique hautement conducteur. Ses liaisons chimiques permettent un stockage rapide des ions divalents, essentiel \u00e0 un fonctionnement stable. L&#039;\u00e9lectrode positive est compos\u00e9e de bleu de Prusse, un mat\u00e9riau bien connu dans le domaine des batteries aqueuses.<br><br>Les tests ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que la cellule atteint une tension de 2,2 V et une \u00e9nergie sp\u00e9cifique de 48,3 Wh\/kg. Son atout majeur r\u00e9side dans son exceptionnelle durabilit\u00e9\u00a0: la batterie est rest\u00e9e stable pendant 120\u00a0000 cycles sous une charge \u00e9lev\u00e9e de 20 A\/g. Charg\u00e9e une fois par jour, elle aurait th\u00e9oriquement une dur\u00e9e de vie de plus de 300 ans, incomparable \u00e0 celle des batteries conventionnelles qui commencent \u00e0 faiblir apr\u00e8s quelques milliers de cycles.<br><br>Le syst\u00e8me atteint \u00e9galement une capacit\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifique de 112,8 mAh\/g, et les mat\u00e9riaux sont totalement non toxiques et conformes aux normes environnementales internationales telles que RCRA et ISO 14001.
