Ce composant agit comme une sorte d&#039;interface qui capture des signaux analogiques \u00e0 variation extr\u00eamement rapide et les pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 la conversion num\u00e9rique.<br><br>La nouvelle puce d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par l&#039;Institut Heinz Nixdorf et son \u00e9quipe de recherche peut g\u00e9rer plus de 500 gigabits par seconde (Gbps) sur un seul canal gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la modulation d&#039;amplitude en quadrature. En configuration multicanaux, le d\u00e9bit de transfert pourrait m\u00eame d\u00e9passer 100 t\u00e9rabits par seconde, un atout essentiel pour les r\u00e9seaux de communication dorsaux longue distance.<br><br>L&#039;utilisation de la technologie silicium-germanium n&#039;est pas le fruit du hasard. Ce mat\u00e9riau permet d&#039;atteindre des vitesses de commutation des transistors nettement sup\u00e9rieures tout en r\u00e9duisant la consommation d&#039;\u00e9nergie. Il s&#039;agit d&#039;un facteur crucial pour l&#039;avenir des centres de donn\u00e9es, des serveurs et des services cloud, o\u00f9 une bande passante plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e am\u00e9liore directement l&#039;efficacit\u00e9 de l&#039;ensemble du syst\u00e8me.<br><br>Maxim Weizel, chercheur participant au projet, souligne que la conception a d\u00fb relever d&#039;extraordinaires d\u00e9fis techniques. \u00c0 de telles fr\u00e9quences, la moindre erreur peut entra\u00eener une distorsion du signal, ou bruit de phase. Pour atteindre la pr\u00e9cision requise, ils ont eu recours \u00e0 des simulations avanc\u00e9es et au calcul haute performance, surmontant ainsi les limitations des syst\u00e8mes de mesure existants.<br><br>Le d\u00e9veloppement de cette puce, auquel ont particip\u00e9 des institutions telles que l&#039;Universit\u00e9 RWTH d&#039;Aix-la-Chapelle, l&#039;Institut de technologie de Karlsruhe et le DESY, confirme que la vitesse devient un avantage concurrentiel d\u00e9cisif dans le domaine de l&#039;intelligence artificielle.
