Tim sa Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta Aalto u Espoou u Finskoj, predvo\u0111en istra\u017eiva\u010dem Jereom M\u00e4kinenom, objavio je studiju koja opisuje kako su transformirali kristal u optomehani\u010dki sustav. Takvi sustavi mogli bi omogu\u0107iti izuzetno precizne senzore ili memorijske jedinice za kvantna ra\u010dunala.<br><br>Eksperiment je proveden u Laboratoriju za niske temperature, dijelu nacionalne istra\u017eiva\u010dke infrastrukture OtaNano, i uz pomo\u0107 ra\u010dunalnih mogu\u0107nosti projekta Aalto Science-IT.<br><br>Teoretski ih je 2012. godine predlo\u017eio dobitnik Nobelove nagrade Frank Wilczek, a vremenski kristali su kvantni sustavi koji djeluju u svom najni\u017eem energetskom stanju bez vanjskog unosa energije. Godine 2021. istra\u017eiva\u010di sa Stanforda, Googlea, Max Plancka i Oxforda stvorili su vremenski kristal koriste\u0107i kvantni procesor Sycamore. Kasnije je Tehnolo\u0161ko sveu\u010dili\u0161te Delft stvorilo kristal unutar dijamanta.<br><br>Znanstvenici sa Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta Aalto sada su pokazali da je mogu\u0107e spojiti kristal s vanjskim sustavom i podesiti njegova svojstva. Ubrizgali su magnonske kvazi\u010destice u superfluid helija-3 pomo\u0107u radiovalova. Nakon \u0161to je pumpa isklju\u010dena, magnoni su formirali vremenski kristal koji je ostao aktivan do 108 ciklusa.<br><br>Kako je postupno nestajao, kristal se spajao s obli\u017enjim mehani\u010dkim oscilatorom, koji je ovisio o njegovoj frekvenciji i amplitudi.
