Ovi strojevi su manji od zrna soli i rade na razini biolo\u0161kih mikroorganizama. Potonje otvara potpuno nove mogu\u0107nosti u medicini i industriji.<br><br>Na mikroskopskoj razini, fizi\u010dke sile poput otpora fluida i viskoznosti izuzetno su sna\u017ene. Umjesto kori\u0161tenja tradicionalnih nogu ili peraja, ovi roboti koriste elektri\u010dna polja za manipuliranje ionima u okolnoj teku\u0107ini. Ioni zatim guraju molekule vode, omogu\u0107uju\u0107i robotu da pliva brzinom od jedne duljine tijela u sekundi.
