Teku\u0107i elektroliti u njima su zapaljivi, \u0161to mo\u017ee dovesti do eksplozija ili opasnih kemijskih po\u017eara ako se o\u0161tete ili izlo\u017ee visokoj toplini. To ograni\u010dava njihovu upotrebu u naprednim tehnologijama kao \u0161to su zrakoplovna oprema, vojni sustavi i industrijski senzori za Internet stvari (IoT). Baterije u \u010dvrstom stanju nude rje\u0161enje, gdje se teku\u0107ina zamjenjuje \u010dvrstim medijem. Me\u0111utim, do sada je bilo izuzetno te\u0161ko proizvesti potpuno kerami\u010dke verzije za male ure\u0111aje zbog fizi\u010dkih ograni\u010denja. \u0160to su kerami\u010dki slojevi tanji, to cijela struktura postaje krhkija i sklonija lomljenju.<br><br>Kineski istra\u017eiva\u010di rije\u0161ili su ovaj in\u017eenjerski izazov domi\u0161ljatom metodom vi\u0161eslojnog slaganja.
