Rije\u010d je o potpuno nuklearnoj bateriji razvijenoj u Kini koja koristi izotop ugljik-14 i pretvara\u010d silicij-karbida (SiC). Ova nuklearna baterija predstavlja ogroman korak naprijed u usporedbi sa svojim prethodnikom, Zhulong-1, iz 2024. godine, jer prevladava probleme visoke cijene, niske snage i lo\u0161e integracije.<br><br>Za razliku od klasi\u010dnih nuklearnih baterija koje NASA i Kina ve\u0107 koriste u svemirskim sondama i lunarnim roverima (poput Chang&#039;e-3 i Chang&#039;e-4), koje rade na principu pretvaranja topline u elektri\u010dnu energiju, kineska inovacija krenula je druga\u010dijim putem. Baterija radi sli\u010dno solarnoj \u0107eliji, osim \u0161to umjesto svjetlosti &quot;hvata&quot; elektrone (beta \u010destice) koji se osloba\u0111aju pri raspadu ugljika-14, a koji izravno generiraju elektri\u010dnu struju u silicij-karbidnom poluvodi\u010du.<br><br>Zahvaljuju\u0107i ovoj tehnologiji i naprednoj trodimenzionalnoj presavijenoj strukturi, znanstvenici su smanjili volumen baterije za 17 posto, a istovremeno pove\u0107ali volumetrijsku gusto\u0107u snage za faktor 15. Nuklearna baterija Qianjiyuan Tianshu mjeri ne\u0161to vi\u0161e od 16,8 kubi\u010dnih centimetara, ali mo\u017ee proizvesti struju od 0,713 mikroampera pri naponu od 2,06 V i maksimalnoj izlaznoj snazi od 1,13 mikrovata.<br><br>Klju\u010dna prednost ove baterije je njezin izniman vijek trajanja. Budu\u0107i da je vrijeme poluraspada ugljika-14 5730 godina, baterija \u0107e bez problema raditi tisu\u0107ama godina.
