Il risultato \u00e8 stato recentemente pubblicato sulla rivista Nature Energy.<br><br>Si tratta di batterie al litio-metallo, che hanno una densit\u00e0 energetica significativamente pi\u00f9 elevata rispetto alle batterie agli ioni di litio, poich\u00e9 utilizzano litio puro al posto dell&#039;anodo in grafite. Nonostante i loro vantaggi, le batterie al litio-metallo sono state finora meno diffuse a causa dei dendriti, o cristalli di litio taglienti. Questi ultimi si formano sugli anodi durante la carica e possono causare cortocircuiti.<br><br>I ricercatori hanno scoperto che i dendriti si formano a causa della coesione irregolare sulla superficie del litio. Di conseguenza, hanno sviluppato una nuova soluzione elettrolitica liquida con una struttura anionica che presenta una debole affinit\u00e0 di legame per gli ioni di litio. Ci\u00f2 consente una deposizione uniforme del litio sull&#039;anodo e impedisce la formazione di dendriti anche durante la carica rapida.<br><br>In laboratorio, la batteria \u00e8 stata caricata da 5 % a 70 % in soli 12 minuti, con oltre 350 cicli. Modelli ad alta densit\u00e0 energetica (386 Wh\/kg) hanno dimostrato la capacit\u00e0 di caricare da 10 % a 80 % in 17 minuti.
