Il Global Computing Consortium (GCC) ha ufficialmente presentato un nuovo standard, UBIOS (Unified Basic Input Output System), progettato per l&#039;architettura distribuita e la progettazione congiunta di software e hardware. Lo standard \u00e8 registrato con il codice T\/GCC 3007-2025.<br><br>Finora, la Cina, come il resto del mondo, ha fatto ampio affidamento su UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), sviluppato da Intel e Microsoft come successore del vecchio BIOS. Con l&#039;introduzione di UBIOS, il Paese sta ottenendo il suo primo ecosistema nazionale completamente standardizzato ed estensibile, riducendo la sua dipendenza da UEFI.<br><br>Lo standard \u00e8 stato sviluppato da 13 importanti aziende tecnologiche e istituti di ricerca cinesi, tra cui il China Electronics Standardization Institute, Huawei Technologies e Nanjing BAI AO. Questo \u00e8 significativo perch\u00e9 UEFI ha dominato le piattaforme x86 per due decenni e si \u00e8 diffuso su ARM, RISC-V e PC. Tuttavia, le dimensioni del codice e le inefficienze lo rendono inadatto all&#039;elaborazione eterogenea.<br><br>A differenza di UEFI, strettamente legato all&#039;architettura x86 e alle tabelle ACPI, UBIOS \u00e8 progettato da zero.
