Invece dell&#039;elaborazione digitale con valori binari, utilizza l&#039;elaborazione analogica tramite celle RRAM che memorizzano ed elaborano i dati come segnali elettrici continui.<br><br>In uno studio pubblicato il 13 ottobre sulla rivista Nature Electronics, il team descrive come il chip risolva due importanti problemi dei sistemi digitali. Il primo \u00e8 legato all&#039;elevato consumo energetico, il secondo alla limitata capacit\u00e0 di elaborazione dei dati. Testato su compiti di comunicazione complessi, il chip ha raggiunto la precisione dei processori digitali, ma ha consumato 100 volte meno elettricit\u00e0.<br><br>Con ulteriori modifiche, il chip ha superato le prestazioni delle GPU di fascia alta fino a 1.000 volte. Il vantaggio principale \u00e8 che i dati vengono elaborati all&#039;interno del chip stesso, senza la necessit\u00e0 di trasferimenti tra memoria e processore.<br><br>Celle RRAM dedicate sono state disposte in due circuiti: uno per la valutazione rapida e l&#039;altro per l&#039;affinamento preciso dei risultati.
