I minuscoli dispositivi volanti ispirati agli insetti potrebbero facilmente muoversi tra le macerie, ma finora questi microrobot si sono rivelati troppo lenti e goffi per un utilizzo serio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un team del MIT, guidato dai professori Kevin Chen e Jonathan P. How, \u00e8 riuscito a superare questo problema. Utilizzando un nuovo sistema di controllo basato sull&#039;intelligenza artificiale, hanno creato un robot in miniatura in grado di volare come veri insetti. Il dispositivo, alimentato da morbidi muscoli artificiali, permette alle sue ali di sbattere con estrema rapidit\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La ragione principale del notevole miglioramento delle prestazioni risiede nel software a due fasi. Gli scienziati hanno utilizzato un sofisticato modello matematico per la pianificazione del volo, in grado di prevedere il movimento e calcolare manovre complesse come virate strette e rollii successivi. Poich\u00e9 tali calcoli avrebbero richiesto troppa potenza di calcolo durante il volo stesso, questo sistema ha agito da &quot;insegnante&quot;. Attraverso l&#039;apprendimento per imitazione, hanno creato un modello di intelligenza artificiale pi\u00f9 leggero e veloce, che viene eseguito direttamente durante il volo in tempo reale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I risultati dei test sono impressionanti. Il nuovo algoritmo ha conferito al robot una velocit\u00e0 superiore del 447% e un&#039;accelerazione superiore del 255% rispetto alle versioni precedenti. Il minuscolo robot \u00e8 riuscito a eseguire 10 capriole consecutive in aria in soli 11 secondi, mantenendosi entro 4-5 cm dalla traiettoria prevista, nonostante occasionali raffiche di vento. \u00c8 inoltre in grado di eseguire una rapida e potente manovra di beccheggio e arresto, simile a quella utilizzata dagli insetti per stabilizzare la vista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attualmente il sistema si affida a telecamere esterne per monitorare la propria posizione nello spazio.
