The ultimate pocket-sized Insta360 camcorder
Insta360 has launched its latest 360-degree action camera, the X4. The most obvious upgrade the $500 camera offers over its X3 predecessor is the ability to record 8K video at 30 frames per second. This extra boost in resolution and detail can come in handy when watching action videos on devices larger than a phone, flipping 360 footage on platforms like YouTube, or cropping the perspective you want from a 360 footage. Also included is a new 2,290 mAh battery that lasts for 75 minutes of 8K footage and 135 minutes of 5.7K footage.
The X4 supports 5.7K recording at 60fps and 4K at 100fps. (The X3 was limited to 5.7K at 30fps and 4K at 60fps.) Like older models, there's a single-lens shooting mode if you don't want to shoot 360-degree videos. (This will record in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.)
The X4 has a larger 2.5-inch touchscreen than its predecessor and is made of scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.
Like the X3, the X4 can shoot photos with a resolution of 72 million dots. The new camera also features a Me Mode that records 180-degree video that conveniently hides your selfie stick. Unlike the X3, the X4's Me Mode is also available in 4K and 2.7K resolution.
