ChatGPT Pro package for $100 per month

OpenAI has announced a new version of its ChatGPT Pro subscription for $100 per month. The new package offers five times the usage of the Codex tool compared to the existing $20 Plus subscription, and is aimed primarily at longer and more demanding programming tasks.

The new subscription is OpenAI’s attempt to win over users of its rivals, notably Anthropic and its popular Claude Code tool. The $100 plan will compete directly with its “Max” plan, which is priced the same, while also filling the gap between the basic Plus plan for $20 and the more expensive Pro version, which costs $200 per month.

The situation is a bit odd, as there are now two versions of the Pro subscription. OpenAI explains that the new, cheaper version still includes access to all Pro features, but the more expensive package offers higher usage limits.

According to the company, the ChatGPT Plus subscription will continue to be the best choice for everyday, moderate use of Codex, while the new $100 Pro plan offers a more affordable upgrade for users with higher needs. In addition, OpenAI offers a basic Go plan for $8 per month, as well as a free version.
