After nearly a month of speculation since Motorola first revealed the pricing for its highly anticipated first foldable smartphone that opens like a book, the company has finally cleared up doubts about its availability. While rivals like Honor with the Magic V6 and Oppo with the Find N6 have already started selling their new products in the Chinese market, Motorola is taking a different path. Unlike the aforementioned Chinese competitors, who have yet to confirm dates for international markets, Motorola is betting on a global presence.

The new Razr Fold will be a direct competitor to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold7. Motorola has officially confirmed that its premium flagship will arrive in the eurozone on April 11. The same date also applies to the UK market, while availability data for North America, India, Africa or the Middle East remains unknown for now.

The specs promise to be a beast. The Razr Fold will be equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. While the hardware details are sketchy, the device is aiming for the very top of the ultra-premium class. In comparison, the Oppo Find N6 packs advanced technology into its body, measuring just 0.421cm thick when open and 0.893cm when closed, while weighing 225g. Its internal display measures 20.62cm (8.12 inches) with a resolution of 2,480 x 2,248 pixels, while the external AMOLED display measures 16.81cm (6.62 inches). Both support a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,800 nits of brightness.

It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and the phone will also be equipped with IP48 and IP49 dust and water resistance, a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYTIA sensor, 80-watt wired charging, and 50-watt wireless charging.

The Motorola Razr Fold will retail for €1,999. In the UK, the price will be around €2,130. This puts Motorola in a strong position against Samsung and other players in a foldable device market that is becoming increasingly saturated with premium models.
