Roborock now also takes care of grassy areas
Roborock, known to most for its robot vacuum cleaners, is entering a completely new category – robotic lawnmowers. At IFA 2025, the company introduced three models, the highlight of which is the RockMow Z1, a premium lawnmower with built-in all-wheel drive that can overcome slopes of up to 80 percent, or almost 39 degrees.
Roborock Z1 is equipped with independent motors on each wheel and additional motor control of the front wheels, which allows for smoother turns and reduces the risk of slipping on steep slopes. It also has a built-in suspension that ensures stability when mowing and a more even cut. The blade can get as close as 3 centimeters to walls and curbs, reducing the need for manual mowing.
It uses a combination of RTK satellite navigation and vSLAM (visual simultaneous localization and mapping) for orientation, allowing it to move precisely around the garden. According to Roborock, the Z1 can mow up to 5,000 m² of lawn in 24 hours, and users can even create patterns or inscriptions in the grass via the app, similar to the LUBA lawn mowers.
Alongside the Z1 comes the RockMow S1, a more affordable model with AI-powered smart mapping. It can handle slopes up to 45 percent (24.2 degrees), pass through passages as narrow as 70 cm and mow up to 1,000 m² in 24 hours.
The smallest of the three is the RockNeo Q1, designed for everyday lawn maintenance. It boasts smart mapping, precise mowing (3 cm from the edge) and a Wildlife Friendly feature that prevents night mowing so as not to disturb animals.
The company has not yet revealed the pricing and availability of the new Roborock lawn mowers.
