Solution for Windows 10 users before October end of support

As Microsoft prepares to stop providing security updates for Windows 10 in October, users still have a few options. You can upgrade to Windows 11, either by buying a new PC or by forcibly upgrading your existing one, or you can extend Windows 10 support for a year. Another option is to switch to a different operating system altogether. I chose Fedora KDE.

But Fedora isn't the only option. Many communities are promoting Linux as a way out of the Microsoft ecosystem. One of the most promising is the Zorin team, which has released Zorin OS 18 Beta (trial version). Here is a distribution designed specifically for former Windows users.

Zorin OS 18 Beta is made for those who are running away from the end of support for Windows 10, which will be on October 14, 2025. Approximately 240 million devices do not meet the strict requirements for Windows 11, so users are faced with a choice. A new PC or switching to a modern operating system.

Zorin OS offers a familiar interface and powerful features that make the transition easy. It supports OneDrive, which allows you to access your existing files in the cloud. It also recognizes Windows installation files and advises on how to set them up on Linux, and suggests alternatives.

Visually, Zorin OS 18 is so similar to Windows 10 that it could easily be mistaken for a skin. To try out the system, visit the Zorin OS 18 Core Beta download page.
