Flyoobe is undoubtedly one of the most popular third-party customization tools for Windows 11. It initially started out as Flyby11, with a focus on enabling Windows 11 upgrades even for computers that don't officially meet the system requirements. Over time, Flyoobe has shifted its focus to customizing the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) and removing unnecessary system components.

Less than a week after the release of version 1.2, Flyoobe 1.3 is now available, bringing significant new features. The most notable change is the completely redesigned OOBE, which now allows you to set your default web browser during system setup. In addition, the user can also download other browsers directly from OOBE, expanding the options for choosing right after a fresh installation of Windows 11.

The OOBE personalization options are richer. The user can now choose between left-alignment or centering of the taskbar. The interface has been visually refined, DPI handling has been improved, and a number of bugs have been fixed. The top tab bar now clearly shows which part of the OOBE the user is in.

Additionally, the “Setup / Finalization” phase in the kernel has been optimized and expanded, although details about this remain limited for now. Flyby11 still exists as a separate tool, but the developer plans to merge it with Flyoobe into a single project. Once the merger is complete, the source code will be released publicly.

Flyoobe can be downloaded from a dedicated page, but be warned: modifying Windows system images can be risky. We therefore recommend its use only for advanced users who are aware of these risks.
