Microsoft poroča o velikem napredku Windows 11 na ARM – uporabniki zdaj večino časa preživijo v domače prevedenih aplikacijah. Z lansiranjem Copilot+ računalnikov in Snapdragon X čipov se je začela nova era zmogljivosti in učinkovitosti.
Windows 11 na ARM: 90 % časa v domačih aplikacijah!

Windows 11 and ARM-based PCs are booming, with users now spending 90 percent of their time in natively compiled apps, a huge improvement over previous years.

Microsoft has highlighted in a new announcement that the ARM app ecosystem is rapidly expanding. According to Vice President Mike Adams, native ARM versions are now present in the majority of user time, which means efficient and powerful performance. The turnaround began with the launch of Copilot+ computers and Qualcomm's Snapdragon X chips in May 2024. Most manufacturers have adopted the platform, which promises performance comparable to Apple Silicon.

App developers have responded by adapting their apps to the ARM architecture. Categories such as productivity, creative tools, VPN, social networking, entertainment, and security are supported. Google Chrome and Adobe Creative Suite are also now natively compiled for ARM. Microsoft lists apps such as: 7-Zip, Google Drive, Dropbox, Trello, Todoist, LibreOffice, Camtasia, Paint.NET, Djay Pro, CapCut, Figma, Apple TV, Apple Music, Telegram, WhatsApp, Spotify, Davinci Resolve, Blender, Luminar Neo, and Microsoft Office.

For applications that still run via emulation, Snapdragon X chips and the PRISM engine ensure smooth performance. The only exception at present is games. With a strong ecosystem, Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon X2 is poised for even greater performance and efficiency.
