Paper Pro Move brings a color screen and two-week battery life

The well-known reMarkable 2 was the manufacturer's most compact tablet to date, with a 26.2-inch screen. It was recently surpassed by the new Paper Pro Move, which measures just 7.7 x 4.2 x 0.25 inches and weighs 8.1 ounces. While the device is too big for most pockets, it makes it much easier to use with one hand.

The Paper Pro Move is based on the E Ink Gallery 3 display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a diagonal of 18.5 centimeters and a resolution of 1,696 × 954 pixels. The display supports color display and has a built-in front light, which allows it to be used even at night. As is typical of E Ink technology, readability is excellent even in direct sunlight. This makes the Paper Pro Move ideal as an e-reader, and the included stylus also allows you to write notes.

The stylus attaches magnetically to the right side of the device and charges wirelessly. With a 2,334 mAh battery and a power-saving display, the device is said to last up to two weeks of use, and charging from 0 to 90 percent takes just 45 minutes. The dual-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor and 2 GB of system memory don't offer top-notch performance, but the energy-efficient Linux-based reMarkable OS ensures smooth operation.

Price and availability

The Paper Pro Move is already available in the manufacturer's online store for around 420 euros. It includes a stylus. The protective cover "Book Folio" is available in fabric for 65 euros (polymer pattern), 93 euros (mosaic pattern) or in leather for 130 euros. The Connect subscription for access to cloud functions costs 2.80 euros per month.
