Apple announces something special for March 4th

Apple announces something special for March 4th

Apple is kicking off spring with an unusual event that's already stirring up the imagination. Three locations, a mysterious invitation, and a focus on an "experience" rather than a traditional presentation suggest the company is preparing more than just a routine product refresh.

Apple has officially confirmed a “Special Experience” event that will take place simultaneously in New York, London, and Shanghai on March 4. The choice of three locations and the use of the term “experience” instead of the classic “event” suggest that it will be a different approach than the traditional Apple Park presentations.

Invitations to journalists are typically mysterious.”You're invited. Join us in person at the Apple Experience in London,” one of them reads, with the location of course varying by city. The event will start at 9 a.m. New York time, which is 3 p.m. here.

New iPhone 17e and a more affordable Mac?

Although Apple has not officially revealed what it will introduce, the arrival of a new, more affordable iPhone 17e and a new MacBook, which is said to be powered by a chip similar to those in the iPhone, is expected.

The invitation features the Apple logo made up of 22 colored glass segments. The design is reminiscent of the so-called “Liquid Glass” style that Apple uses in its latest iPhone, iPad, and Mac software. The colors — blue, green, and yellow — could hint at new shades of the devices, perhaps even refreshed iPad or MacBook models.

Additionally, upgraded MacBook Pro models with new M5 Pro and M5 Max processors are also mentioned.

Event or experience?

Apple is known for its careful word choice, so the label “experience” instead of “event” is probably no coincidence. It’s possible that the focus will be on hands-on demonstrations and hands-on product testing, rather than a classic stage presentation.

If predictions come true, March 4 will mark an important spring launch cycle in which Apple consolidates its offering in the lower price segment while continuing to upgrade its professional Mac line.

The question of whether the event will also feature any surprises remains open for now, but the fact that Apple confirmed the date earlier than usual already suggests that it is preparing something important.
