Japanese mini computer with an unusual processor
In the world of compact computers dominated by Intel and AMD, Japanese brand Zuiki presents a bold alternative. Their new Vividnode Mobile AI model is not just another mini computer, but a specialized tool for developers and AI enthusiasts. The heart of the device is the SpacemiT K3 SoC processor, based on the RISC-V architecture. It is an eight-core processor (A100 cores) with a clock frequency of 2.4 GHz, which, in combination with dedicated accelerators, provides up to 60 TOPS (billions of operations per second) of computing power for AI tasks.
The external dimensions of the device are impressive. The novelty measures only 12.5 x 8.8 x 2.8 cm, which means that you can easily put it in your pocket. Despite its small size, it offers configurations with up to 32 GB of system memory, which is key for locally running demanding AI models such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. For those with less demanding needs, a cheaper version with 16 GB of memory will also be available. The device runs on its own VividLinux AI OS, which is based on Linux and includes pre-installed tools such as Ollama, ONNX and Qwen-30B.
Connectivity is solid considering the size, although limited by modern standards. There are two USB Type-C ports for data transfer and image (DisplayPort), an additional USB-C for power, and a dual network connector (10G and 1G Ethernet). Wireless connections are provided by WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. For data storage, 64 GB of UFS memory is built in, and there is also a free M.2 slot for upgrading with an SSD. The entire system operates within an economical 40-watt power frame, ensuring quiet and cool operation.
The project is currently in the crowdfunding phase on the Japanese platform Kibidango. The base model with 16 GB of system memory (without SSD) costs approximately 1,050 euros, while the more powerful version with 32 GB of system memory is estimated at around 1,545 euros. First deliveries are planned for December 2026, but global availability has not yet been confirmed.
