Graphics card for 460,000 euros!
For those who haven't been following the RTX 5090 pricing and shortages, Asus's announcement may sound like an April Fool's joke. But it's true. At the Bilibili World 2025 event in China, Asus unveiled its most expensive RTX 5090 graphics card yet, the ROG Astral Gold Edition, with an estimated price tag of €460,000.
Unlike the RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition, which contained 6.5 grams of 24-karat gold and cost an estimated €6,200, the new version takes luxury to a whole new level. While the Dhahab Edition only used around €640 worth of gold, the recently launched Astral Gold graphics card includes 5 kilograms of pure 24-karat gold, with a price tag of around €92,000 per kilogram.
The total weight of the new card is 7.2 kg, which is 3 times more than the regular RTX 5090 cards, which weigh around 2.5 to 3 kg. For comparison: the recommended retail price of the Nvidia RTX 5090 is €1,850, but due to limited supply, prices on the market reach €2,800 to €3,700. Nevertheless, this gold-plated version exceeds the price of the regular card by 125 to 250 times.
In terms of specifications, the ROG Astral Gold Edition remains the same as the standard version: 32 GB of GDDR7 graphics memory, 21,760 CUDA cores, and four fans. Visually, it's almost identical to the standard card - except, of course, for the precious gold plating. And yes, in case you're wondering - the sinfully expensive novelty still runs games without any problems.
