Asus unveils rugged laptops designed for security and productivity

Asus has introduced two new ExpertBook laptops, the P3 P3405CVA and P3 P3605CVA. The new models are primarily intended for business and slightly more demanding users who need reliability and performance. The P3405CVA model includes an Intel Core i5-13420H processor, while the P3605CVA has a slightly more powerful Intel Core i7-13620H.

The laptops also differ in screen size, namely 35.6 centimeters diagonal (14 inches) for the P3405 model and 40.6 centimeters diagonal (16 inches) for the P3605 model. Both have a resolution of 1,920 × 1,200 pixels, a brightness of 300 cd/m² and coverage of the 45 % NTSC color spectrum.

Each model includes 16 GB of DDR5 system memory, upgradeable to 64 GB, and a 512 GB M.2 2280 Solid State SSD. There is another M.2 2230 slot for additional storage. Interfaces are the same on both models: two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, and HDMI 2.1 for display. Connectivity includes Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.0.

The built-in 63 Wh battery supports 65 W charging via USB-C, so no special power adapter is required. The weight is 1.36 kg (P3405) and 1.75 kg (P3605). Both models are MIL-STD 810H certified, which means they are resistant to drops, moisture, heat, cold and shock. The starting price of the new products will be around 745 euros. Additional information will be announced soon.
