Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones running HyperOS display ads in many default apps like Downloads, Mi Browser, Mi Video Player, Music, Security, Themes, and App Vault. This is a real annoyance for many. Fortunately, most of them can be turned off with a few settings.

In this guide, we are using a Xiaomi Poco F7 running HyperOS 2.0 mobile operating system. However, the steps are similar on other Xiaomi devices.

Downloads: Click the three-line icon, go to Settings, and turn off the "Show ads" option.

Mi Browser: Click the icon in the bottom right, then the gear icon, and in the advanced settings, turn off "Show ads."

Mi Video Player: Tap profile icon, then gear. Turn off “Personalized Recommendations.” Xiaomi warns that this feature will only be turned off for 90 days.

Music: Tap the top left icon to access settings. Turn off "Allow persistent notifications." In advanced settings, turn off "Show ads," "Startup recommendations," and "Personalized recommendations."

Safety: In Settings (gear icon), turn off "Recommendations" under Suggestions. Then, in the Cleaner menu, turn off "Recommendations."

Themes: Tap icon in the bottom right, then the gear and turn off "Show ads" and "Personalized recommendations".

App Vault: If installed, tap the menu (three lines), go to "Manage services" and turn off "App suggestions" and "Ads".
