Trump Phone disassembled to the last screw: Instead of an American phone, a Taiwanese HTC

Trump Mobile's T1 smartphone finally hit the market after months of delay, but it didn't garner much attention from buyers. A well-known content creator from the channel JerryRigEverything nevertheless, took the device apart down to the last screw, confirming speculation that had been circulating online for months. It turned out that the phone is a near-perfect copy of the HTC U24 Pro.

Although marketers advertised the device with high-profile promises of American manufacturing, practical testing quickly called those claims into question. The internal layout of components, screw positions, battery bay, and even the serial numbers on the circuit boards are identical to the HTC model, which was designed in Taiwan and assembled in China. It is therefore an existing product sold under a different brand.

To prove the similarity, the video's creator performed a simple test. He installed the motherboard from the T1 into the HTC U24 Pro's case, then repeated the process in reverse. Both devices worked without any problems after swapping out key components.

Recall that the phone has been available for pre-order since June, but its price has since increased due to the increase in memory chips. It is also interesting that the device had a completely different appearance and technical characteristics when it was first introduced in 2025. Among the specifications we find a 17.22-centimeter (6.78-inch) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 30-watt fast charging, and a triple rear camera with a main telephoto lens of 50 MP resolution.
