AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D: the return of the written off
The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor, long considered the absolute best choice for PC gaming, is returning to the shelves. This time it comes in refreshed packaging, with which the manufacturer wants to celebrate this special occasion. After information about the existence of this version was first leaked to the public last month, the updated AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D AM4 10th Anniversary Edition has now officially appeared at an Indian retailer. Its price is approximately 267 euros. This special series not only represents a tribute to a full decade of AMD's legendary AM4 platform, but also offers consumers the ideal opportunity to buy a still extremely bulky gaming processor at a much more affordable price.
The latest anniversary edition of the processor retains the same basic packaging design as the classic version, but adds a few notable aesthetic touches that mark the milestone for the AM4 platform. The front and back of the box now proudly display the “10th Anniversary Edition” logo. The logo itself is dated April 16, 2026, which is the exact date the processor was first leaked online last month. Underneath this anniversary badge, AMD has added the words “10 Years of Innovation,” highlighting the AM4 socket’s ten-year technological advancements. The company certainly has good reason to celebrate, as the AM4 platform is arguably the longest-running consumer platform in the history of computing. Since its launch in 2016, it has supported multiple generations of processors, from the pre-Ryzen era all the way up to the proven Zen 3 architecture, and all the updates in between. That adds up to more than 125 unique processors.
There are almost certainly no technical changes to be expected here. The 10th anniversary version will most likely retain the exact same specifications and performance as the original model. This octa-core processor was the first to bring advanced 3D V-Cache technology to the consumer class. Its re-release serves primarily as a tribute to loyal users and as AMD's solution for gamers with shallower pockets who are facing a general lack of memory and storage space in the market.
Indian online retailer 99deals.in has listed this anniversary edition for around €267. For comparison, the original processor cost around €387 when it was released in 2024. With the new version costing only around 69 percent of the original price of the standard model, gamers will be able to enjoy the same premium gaming experience for 31 percent less money. This amount is also quite close to the historical low price of the classic model, which was around €231.
