The mystery and many assumptions that surrounded the financial aspect of the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 are finally a thing of the past. The developers have revealed that the basic, standard edition will cost players approximately 70.39 euros, while the more content-rich Ultimate Edition will cost around 87.99 euros. The more expensive “package” will include attractive additional bonuses, among which stand out top-notch vehicles, unique weapons, special clothing and other exclusive digital elements within the game itself.

This move directly ends a long-running debate in the gaming community about whether Rockstar Games would break the “established” price point for AAA games, which has typically been around $61. As it turns out, the predictions were accurate, and the base version will actually be more expensive than most other modern blockbuster titles on the market. The latter, of course, has fans rightly worried about the new industry pricing standards.

The publisher also provided key information for anyone planning to purchase the game digitally. All customers who pre-order a digital copy will be able to start downloading the game to their computer systems on November 12, 2026. This will give them a full week to fully install the game and prepare it for the official release date, which is scheduled for November 19.

Rockstar Games has taken an interesting and somewhat unusual approach to the physical release of Grand Theft Auto 6. Although physical "boxes" with the game will also be available in stores starting November 12, buyers will not receive traditional physical game discs in them. Instead of CDs, the packaging will only contain printed activation codes for download that can be redeemed on select gaming platforms. This decision is sure to disappoint many collectors of physical media.
