Microsoft Copilot now with GPT-4 Turbo model, also for free users

Microsoft has revealed that their Copilot will receive a big prize: integration with OpenAI's GPT-4 Turbo model. Best of all, even free users will have full access to GPT-4 Turbo.

According to the post on X, Pro users will be able to choose between the older GPT-4 standard, which is a better option for specific uses. In this way, Microsoft Pro will offer users additional options without depriving free users.

GPT-4 Turbo is an enhanced version of the basic GPT-4 and is well known for its speed, accuracy and ability to handle longer, more complex jobs. Microsoft's update brings faster code generation, more in-depth results, and improved responsiveness. All of this should lead to greater productivity and a cleaner coding process.

Copilot is gaining strongly in value

It's good to see that even free users are getting significant updates to their Copilot assistant UI - it's certainly a good sign that Microsoft will ensure that all users, regardless of financial predispositions, can still benefit from the service. This is important because the tech giant needs to get more people onto the Windows 11 side, which will offer the full version of Copilot.

On the other hand, even Pro subscribers were not left empty-handed, as with the update they get more flexibility when it comes to language model upgrades. Not to mention the other features and tools that have been added so far.

Microsoft recently announced a new feature called Copilot Chatbot, which allows Pro users to create custom chatbots. These are adapted for individual tasks, depending on the user's role in professional life, for example. This update was undertaken by Microsoft without any input from OpenAI, which may indicate that Microsoft is slowly moving away from them, most likely due to the increased scrutiny and lawsuits they are dealing with. However, this is also unusual considering that the latest GPT update was added to Copilot.
