Google Wallet coming soon with a useful new feature
It appears that Google is working on a new feature that would allow users to add a credit card to Google Wallet simply by holding it to their phone.
The current process for adding a card to Google Wallet typically involves scanning or manually entering your card information, then doing some sort of verification with your bank. It's not a difficult process, but Google is apparently looking to simplify it by letting you add a card by holding it up to your phone, if Android Authority's new findings prove to be true.
Source code added to the latest Google Play Services update directly explains the process of "holding a card to the back of your phone" and adding it to Wallet using NFC.

This new code was apparently found alongside the existing “Add Payment Method” screen, removing any doubt that it is intended for anything other than adding a new payment card to the app.
Users will likely still have to verify the entry in some way or complete other similar steps, but this would provide a quick and easy way to enter card information. It's also a fairly familiar process, as some banking apps, such as the Capital One app, use NFC to interact with physical cards.
However, there is no information yet on when - and if at all - the matter is expected to start operating.
