ChatGPT now supports using two Google accounts simultaneously

OpenAI has finally listened to its users and removed one of the most annoying limitations of ChatGPT. If you've ever had to constantly log in and out to switch between your work and personal Google accounts, that's finally over. Now you can connect multiple Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts accounts within a single conversation. This means you can search for messages from different mailboxes or view all your calendars in one place.

Who can try out the new product?
The feature is already available globally to OpenAI’s paid Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans on the web, desktop, iOS, and Android. Free and Go users will have to wait a little longer. In enterprise environments, however, it’s worth noting that Google Workspace administrators still have the final say on whether to enable it.

Be careful with permissions: ChatGPT gets broad powers
When linking accounts, however, it is worth paying some attention to security. The new permissions that OpenAI is requesting for Gmail (the “gmail.modify” permission scope) allow artificial intelligence to read, compose, and send emails. The only thing ChatGPT cannot do is permanently delete messages past the trash. For the calendar, it requires rights to manage events, which means it can also modify them or create new events. By adding each new account, you double these rights, so extra caution is required when working with sensitive data.

What happens when you disconnect?
If you choose to disconnect your Google Account in the OpenAI ChatGPT app settings, access will be terminated immediately. However, be careful: existing conversations and saved memories will remain intact in the system until you manually delete them. Once deleted, the data will be permanently removed within 30 days. It is also wise to check other active sessions that ChatGPT keeps open.
