OnePlus says goodbye to the European market

For months, rumors have been circulating online that OnePlus is planning to completely exit the European and American markets. Despite initial firm denials from the company's management, there is now too much "evidence" to suggest otherwise. According to German technology portal WinFuture, the company has already confirmed this decision to selected media representatives at closed presentations, and an official announcement can be expected shortly.

In practice, this means that we will no longer see OnePlus products on shelves in Europe and the US. Anyone who owns one of their devices can rest assured. Current stock in stores will sell out in the coming months and will no longer be replenished, but the promised software support and updates for existing users remain unchanged and will be valid for the rest of the device's life cycle.

The OnePlus brand will not disappear completely from the face of the Earth, as it will continue to be present in markets such as China and India. However, it will no longer develop its own, unique product lines there. It will now only sell more affordable models from parent company Oppo under its own name.

This development is not a surprise to those who follow the industry closely. The turnaround began back in 2021, when OnePlus became an official subsidiary of the larger Oppo, and co-founder Carl Pei left the company to start his own brand Nothing. While OnePlus is retreating, Oppo is apparently taking the opposite tack in Europe. They plan to significantly strengthen their presence and offer their best models, such as the upcoming flagship Oppo Find X9 Pro, in more European countries.

Meanwhile, there are rumors in tech circles that the end is near for some other brands. There are still loud rumors circulating that one of the popular players, such as Redmi, iQOO or Poco, could soon disappear from the market, although at this point it is not yet known which of these three brands is actually next in line for the shootout.
